The film opens with the teacher writing on the blackboard three words the kids need to learn by Monday: Real Pretend Love.

An Irish lad, Arnold, gives his teacher, Ms Purdy, the second grade teacher, a red stone ring. He, of course, is the one with the crush. He’s in love and she’s pretty and sweet.

She runs into him in the village with his mom. Ms. Prudy is with her fiance and she’s not wearing his ring. Imagine crushed dreams and feeling the other man is not right for your beloved.

This is a wee boy and a lower grade school teacher but he wants the best for her. He is not psycho just in love.

Things are beginning to get more complicated when the young lad challenges the fiance to a dual. He accepts but laughs thinking this is all in fun. Why don’t adults take kids seriously? Their feelings are just as real and important to acknowledge.

You’ll need to watch the short film to find out how fair the story goes. Be prepared for a very intense surprise. Well worth the look.
