The War Room:Living in the ‘Clip Generation.’

Frame-It

My introduction to Canadian video company The War Room began today. I befriended actress Beth Cantor through my singer/songwriter buddy Chad Paquet. There’s an interesting video commercial I found on her fan page. She doesn’t post a lot about her work in her personal page. Anyway, the video is three minutes long showcasing ‘applicants’ vying for a position through an interview. Beth is one of them as a ‘crazy’ cat lady. “ I could sell my soul, I could sell your soul..for a price!” That really got to me and I was giggling. I went to the http://www.warroominc.com/

I am glad I did because I learned a lot. I learned that we live in the ‘clip generation’ and that is why video presentations are really in demand. Companies hire people to do videos to market their products. I was talking to my friend Layne a few days ago and the topic was about marketing. An artist would never survive in this generation without music videos. Whither it is live or studio-made every artist needs one or more. It’s the way of the world. It’s the times.

This is where companies like The War Room gets in the picture. They offer Video Production, Marketing and consulting. My experience working as a trainer made me realize the importance of graphics and videos when you are trying to get your ideas across. With so little time and a lot to do, people want to shove information in as fast as hotcakes and text based presentation wouldn’t do. The power of television was also instrumental in bringing in the ‘clip generation’ because nothing tells a story better than moving pictures and sounds. And I realize this after blogging for years. You might have great ideas but without videos or attractive pictures, the blog becomes boring.

I see why companies like The War Room prove to be important in today’s marketing scheme. They have the latest state of the art equipment. They use  ARRI ALEXA, Sony F35, RED Epic, RED Scarlet, Canon 5D Mark II and Canon 7D. I don’t know what the hell most of these cameras are but the names scream of hi definition and movies.

If you are interested in starting your own video production company, or if you are looking for a company to do your video projects then checking out The War Room is a good place to start.

  1. So true, Baxter. The world is changing at warped speed of perhaps one million clips per minute. Unless we aceed to that, we wil be lost in marketing anything. You have an intuitive grasp of that fact.

  2. Thank you Cher. I admire technology. As long as it is there to serve us and not the other way around.
