The Republic awaits
And our better angels reach out to our hearts
They’ll take us through this savage fight
Through the fury and the fray
And I know, I know
The Republic awaits
And by all gods that may or may not be
By the hymns of valor that make us try
Ignore the pain
Surmount the fear
Give all we can to save our dreams
And let us go forward along the American way
Let us give our all with prayerful hope
Vow to turn the darkest night into the brightest day
We have a path ; we have a voice
Let us take no chance of letting it slip away
We have the time to make a choice
It is up to us to stand and save the day
Just like they did, we’ll do again

The Republic awaits
And all we have is time against the ending of our time
We won’t turn back
We won’t go back
Let our banners fly and our stars shine
We have been released
But we must go where some don’t seem to dare
And nobody’s gonna tell us now
We’re not to truly care
No, Hell no, we won’t go back
We have the time to make a choice
That’s all we really need to know and say
Now is the time to use our voice
We rarely had a clearer choice or clearer way
We know we can never cut and run away
From our home
The Republic awaits
And all we have got is this time to try our souls
And make sure it does not truly slip away

Ben Franklin told a Philadelphia resident that the Framers had given us “A republic” if we could keep it. From 1787 onward that has been our primary obligation as citizens. Now as rarely before, the Republic is under assault by the forces of greed, intolerance, fanaticism and ignorance. It faces enemies both foreign and domestic. Wolves in silk suits, and thugs on the shores of Tripoli. It is time for battle with and without arms. Let us consider the video and rise to the occasion.

This too is a time that tries our souls. The harder the conflict the more glorious the triumph. Not all heroics are performed on the battlefield. Some are done day to day on the campaign trail. FORWARD!
