The Maiden

7439888_orig.jpg Dream of Beautiful MaidenOh I am fleet of foot ~
Like the deer before
The hunter ~

I am dark of hair
And eye ~ and my body
Speaks of its ability ~
To be fruitful and to
Multiply ~

Though none can read
My heart and mind
But you ~
Who have already
Owned me with a
Single kiss ~

And I will be yours
Or no one’s ~

I belong to you as
You belong to me ~
It is inevitable ~
It is written ~
It is done ~

About the Author:

Born in a small, Illinois log cabin. No, that won't work. The pampered only child of incredibly wealthy parents. No, that doesn't fly either. Raised by French nuns after her aristocratic parents were beheaded. No, that's been done! An East Coast transplant to the Pacific Northwest, this notoriously late bloomer began her new life with a new career as a writer and blogger. She has taken to both the new location and the career move like a duck to water. Writing for Expats Post is a new adventure, and our intrepid risk-taker is diving in, feeling right at home with so many old friends.
Reached for comment she replied, "Okay, I wrote my bio, may I Please go out and play?"
We expect great, or perhaps merely more coherent, things from this writer. (Okay, that's a wrap. What a wacko!)

Larry, guilty as charged. But it takes one to know one, my friend. I’m so glad you liked it. Thank you.

Comparison: When true love seals the deal with lips that meet.

It is intriguing how it only takes a fraction of a second to know that, belonging feeling. Recognizing it is a liberating entrapment of sorts.

Theresa, I’ve always thought that the truest freedom is to be had in the deepest and most honest love.

With so few words you bring powerful perception and emotion to this poem, Melody. How refreshing to read of a true love. Just beautiful.

Cher, if I believe in anything at all, it’s true love. Thank you, I’m glad you liked it.
