Surely Right

We Are All Equal

A secularist variation on Silent Night. No event can deliver us all from the perils of this world, but a conviction shared by many and action based thereon can make the world a more just, safe, and benign place for us all.

“Christmas is a necessity. There has to be at least one day of the year to remind us that we’re here for something else besides ourselves.” ~ Eric Sevareid

Surely right, Wholly right
All are equal, Black and White
‘Round our nation, mother, father, and child
Hoping for real progress however mild
Arise in exultant unity,
Arise in exultant unity.

Surely right, Wholly right
Heroes flourish, in the fight
Glory sounds from struggles afar
Gathering, hosts sing “Here we are.”
Fortuity, our liberator is born,
Fortuity, our liberator is born.

Surely right, Wholly right
All good people, join in the fight
Radiance beams from each eager face
With the dawn of amazing grace,
Everyone granted true worth
Everyone granted true worth

Thanks for the gracious words. I just thought we could put the benevolence of this festive time to some practical good.

    As ever,

Words that can easily be embraced by religious and non-religious folks alike!

Thanks I was hoping to bridge the divide and raise a flag to which all people of goodwill could repair.
