Invictus – 2012 – obama-victory

In the face of lies and hate
While rumors soar and slanders roll
The country’s future and its fate
Hang while the election scenes unfold.

Though Super Pacs hurl tons of cash
To blast their voices and stifle ours
And fill print and airwaves with trash
That principles scorn and history scars.

Beyond this time of wrath and fears
With truth denied and progress waylaid
When lies are met with praise and cheers
We rise and vote neither silent nor afraid.

It matters not how vile the play
Nor filled with calumny the scroll
We will neither retreat nor fade away
From the struggle for America’s soul.

A video reprise of what we’ve done and what what’s at stake in 2012.

“America, where are you now? Don’t you care about your sons and daughters, or your grandparents, or your planet?”

  • Elisa,

That part got to me as well -- years ago, perhaps 1961 or 1963.

    Been with me ever since.

    Thanks again.
