Lifehouse – Between The Raindrops ft. Natasha Bedingfield

Shocker! I am not known to write about mainstream  music. But I will make an exception with Lifehouse. Why? To be honest I am pretty much consistent in collecting their albums since 2001. Did I hear  groans and protestations from my friends for saying this? But what can I say? They have one of the most awesome sounds I heard in a band.  This video sounds good and easy on the eyes: Jason Wade and British singer Natasha Bedingfield. It looks like Natasha has grown out of her rebellious short hair into a more fairy like presence in that ethereal dress. She carries it well! And Jason? Well he has one of the most charismatic presence in the music industry. And a great voice to celebrate.

Between the Raindrops got its official release late last year. This carrier single is taken from the band’s 6th studio album Almeria. I blame it to too much blogging that I got alienated from the popular culture. Well it is good to have a glimpse one in a while. But I will surely ogle this video. Shucks!

  • Thanks for the info Kiwi Girl. Now that you mentioned it, I am thinking of doing an article about Neil Finn. Hmmm.. This song is absolutely gorgeous as it makes use of spare guitar parts giving room for the lyrics and the voices of the singers to shine.

I don’t usually comment on these sorts of things but…

    1) even if you don’t particularly like “popular music”, you cannot deny ther quality of talent which in fairness you have pertained to in your “blog”, so why, therefore, the rating was 2.5 out of 6 ratings is completely beyond me. Surely those who usually listen to metal/country/jazz and the like are still able to recgonise a beautifully written and delivered song?
    2) Sorry Kiwigirl, but wrong and slightly deluded if I may so venture. Natasha Bedingfield is out and out British. She was born in Sussex and then moved to Lewisham near London. See here:
Her brother is UK dance artist Daniel who had hits with “I gottas get through this” and “If you’re not the one”.

Don’t take credit for our good people please!

    • Hi Sally good point. I was not the one who gave the rating as I don’t feel like I have the right to rate my favorite bands because from a 10/10 I’d always give a 10 rating 😉

I am choosy when it comes to music so just because a band is ‘louder’ does not mean their music is great. Or just because they wear black and look ‘cool’ does not mean they earn my respect. It is all about craft and real talent. I think Jason Wade has the most fascinating voice in a guy. Thanks for the feed back. I am tempted to write more about them haha. Oh by the way Bryce is really a nice guy. We used to be friends in myspace and he always replies when you write to him.

Thanks for the added info about Natasha. Yes she is British.
