Today, is a very special blog. In the last year I have had the pleasure of working with musicians and performers from across the globe. However, today is the very first blog featuring an artist from my new hometown, Atlanta, Georgia. Please allow me to introduce you to Emily Lipman of Bravo TVs new series, The New Atlanta. Emily and I met in the most unusual way. While walking through Midtown one evening, my husband glanced across the street, saying “The clothes in that shop look like Nashville.” Of course, being from Tennessee I had to take a look inside Raw Denim Boutique. It is the most fabulous boutique, carrying fashions for women and men. This shop rocks. You have to check it out.
So far, my interview with Emily has consisted of one question…
Is this shop based in Nashville?
The answer…No, but I want to open a shop there.
From there we struck up a conversation that has never ended.
Emily is gorgeous, down to earth, and loves Nashville as much as I do. But before leaving that evening she told me she was also on a TV show shot in Atlanta. Intrigued, I checked it out. The show is fab. It’s really what Atlanta is about. I’m still surprised that most people do not realize that Atlanta is a major player on the world stage, one of the top economic hubs on the globe. Over six million people call Atlanta home. We are no longer a provencial capital in the American Southeast but a shiny diamond and a global hotspot. We are diverse, we are educated and we are traveled. On a personal level, I live in a multi-cultural household, as do over 50,000 households in The A. The New New Atlanta is HOTLANTA. This show, The New Atlanta, reflects the changing dynamics of our city.
From Bravo TVs Official Site:
The heart of the Old South has a new set of faces taking the city by storm in Bravo Media’s docu-series, The New Atlanta, debuting Tuesday, September 17 at 10pm ET/PT. The series follows the next generation of the city’s trailblazing young professionals who are hungry to achieve their dreams and find love as they struggle to resolve heartbreaks from the past. Aggressive in both their professional and personal lives, each hopes to make their mark in the cutthroat industries of fashion, music, event planning and business while taking advantage of Atlanta’s hot social scene. Coming from a variety of backgrounds and bringing their own distinct perspectives, this new circle of the city’s rising elite includes: Alexandra Dilworth, Emily Lipman, Africa Miranda, Tribble Reese, and Jevon “Vawn” Sims. Their work-hard, play-hard attitudes give them each an edge over their peers, but their journeys are not without a few bumps, hurdles and heartache along the way.
Owner/Buyer at Raw Denim Boutique
Emily has the looks of the girl next door but is a force to be reckoned with both in business and on her hunt for love. A successful boutique owner, she has quickly become a new face in Atlanta’s growing fashion industry. Born and raised in Atlanta, Emily is just as comfortable at a Shabbat dinner as she is at a cowboy bar. Her passion for life also spills over into her dedication to giving back through her family’s Cystic Fibrosis Charity, Wish for Wendy.
Since an early age Emily Lipman knew she wanted to help others, AND build a fashion empire. Raw Denim Atlanta’s style is a perfect blend of West Coast LA-meets-Nashville. Emily calls it Hollywood Country. She has captured the attention of entertainment networks and publications around the country. Her life is growing at a rapid pace. I believe she is destined for the top. With possibilities ranging from a tentative season 2, rumors of a spinoff in her future, or a second boutique, nothing seems out of reach for this rising star. There are even whispers of a clothing line as speculation rages on about Emily’s next move. Stay tuned for what the future holds. In the meantime, I’m just happy to be able to walk across the street and buy new cowboy boots. Continued success Emily! You rock!
