I have seen the way I see you, forever.
In the now and then, the same
Never worse, only better,
In honesty, not shame…
I have seen the way I see you, forever.
Not your lover, not your brother, in name.
Without end, or beginning,
Only right now today…
As I see you.
You should see the way I see you, forever.
In the shadow and the light, unchanged
Nothing will come between you and me,
Only the truth on display…
You should see the way I see you, forever.
In the mirror, and my eyes, the same
You will know in your heart
What I know in mine…
Like I see you.
Will you see the way I see you, forever?
Not my only, just my best friend, to stay
Never knowing if you’ll know
I’ll remain, as I feel…
Will you see the way I see you, forever?
At the end of your doubt and disdain
Receiving unending acceptance
No other manner, just in this way…
I now see you.
I will love the way I love you, forever.
With nothing to lose or gain
Lacking in understanding
Or capacity to explain…
I will love the way I love you, forever.
Till the end of my life to say
Dearest friend you are true
For the rest of my days…
As I see you.

Your depth, your kindness, your perceptions, are matched only by your extraordinary ability to put thoughts into heart-words and touch all to their core. This is magnificent, Bill.
You are so talented that it drives me crazy! (In a good way, of course)
I loved this, and I’m confident when I say that this will go down as my all-time favorite piece of yours. You’ve been holding out on your poetic abilities, Mr. Friday!
So beautiful! Le sigh…
Wow, very beautiful. My spouse and I always say I love you more, and there is truly no way to know who loves who more isn’t it? smiles. I like the heart on the sleeve quality to this piece. Well done.
Love, love, love! Any words I come up with will not fully explain how I much I adore this poem. Brilliant!
Wow. This is absolutely beautiful, Bill. I want more!
Simply, lovely, absolutely, brilliantly wonderfully written, Bill. Now, do explain the ‘bloody awful poet’ in your bio
Also, I love the drawing chosen for this one
Um, I’m with TJ. You have some explaining to do about this “bloody awful poet” nonsense. Oh, and I’m also in agreement about the picture!
This is a great poem, Bill. Love it!
Lucky the person you wrote this for. Lucky you to feel this way. Lucky us because you shared your beautiful poem with us!
Lucky I am Melody… lucky I am.
Bill, I came back to read this again. It’s so heart-wrenchingly lovely. I’d give an appendage to have someone write this for me!
So would I Melody… so would I.
Of course, it’d have to be my left arm, since I’m right-handed!
That was lovely! What an elegant expression of the deepest connections we can share with our loved ones!
